Description

BUG NOMADS

The thought process behind this was literally looking at a picture of some desert nomad guy and going "Yo, what if he was a bug?"

I put too many cool colors in this, so it came out a lot darker than it should have. It should have looked more bright and sandy and desert-y, but I oversaturated the thing. I'll write it down as a learning experience and try to lay back on the millions of colors next time. Not too many small gripes aside from that one huge one.

So, looks like we've got a moth person holding a grub, another moth person drinking from a water jug with its proboscis, an ant guy with a crossbow, a beetle guy flying away (I love the colors on that one's hood, actually. I'm just drawn to that part for some reason), and another beetle guy with a Hercules beetle horn and a halberd.

Yeah. Awesome. Did I ever mention that I really love bugs, and I have always loved bugs? When I was a little kid, I wanted to be an entomologist, and I was the only kid in my kindergarten class who knew that entomology was the study of bugs and insects, let alone wanted to take part in such studies. I loved bugs so much that I would pick them up without knowing what they were as a toddler (I got a lot of bee stings back in the day for this reason), and I can still spot a ladybug at up to fifty paces.

Bugs are cool, and always will be.

Done with Prismacolor colored pencils and outliner pens on cream-colored pastel paper.
