Allow me to credit and her original picture Isaac Used Growth first and foremost for the inspiration and idea behind this.
I saw her picture and fell in love with the color scheme and general idea. The dark green twisty vine against a rich orange background, and the warmness of green against yellow, brown, and orange. And I remembered that I still have plenty of pastel paper that I'm still experimenting with. So I decided to grace you guys with some more Golden Sun fanart.

Scanning this was a nightmare. I got the composition pretty much finished, and it spent a long time hanging around my college dorm since I was still in college at the time, then when I took it home for break, I realized that the scanner at my house that I usually use was broken. I started another Golden Sun related picture on brand new pastel paper that you'll be seeing soon in the meantime, though. I finally got to scan this today when my dad brought me to his arcane mechascanner in his office, and it took us a bit to get the thing to scan well since it was full of minutia and kept asking us if we wanted to lower the quality in exchange for speed since it was apparently for office work and stuff. Then image conversions and all sorts of other convolutions. Come on! Chugga chugga!

The colors are way more awesome in real life, and you'll have to take my word for that. I took it in a different direction halfway through, with a bit more of a focus on the brown rocks rather than big stretches of orange. I'll see if I can fiddle with it a bit more to get some of that contrast back, but that's probably a lost cause. I loved coloring this, and I wish you could all see it in glorious traditional real life! The greens and oranges aren't as vivid here, and it's killing me!

But it's finally here, and I'm quite proud of it.
